THE RITZ CARLTON PENTHOUSE

Located within The Ritz-Carlton Istanbul at Süzer Plaza, this private penthouse was conceived as a restrained yet powerful living environment shaped by minimalism, material depth, and the emotional intensity of black. Designed and built by Toros and Partners, the project explores how dark tones can create calmness rather than heaviness, allowing space, light, and view to become the primary architectural elements.

The interior language is defined by a palette of black and anthracite surfaces, carefully balanced with reflective materials and soft textures. Custom designed furniture developed by Toros and Partners forms the backbone of the spatial identity, while selected pieces produced by local brand Enne Furniture reinforce a contemporary Turkish design presence.

A long sculptural bar and integrated DJ desk were positioned as social anchors of the home, allowing the penthouse to transform effortlessly into a setting for private gatherings overlooking the Bosphorus and Istanbul skyline. The uninterrupted panoramic view becomes an active component of the interior, contrasting the depth of dark materials with the constantly changing city light.

In the bedroom, mirrored surfaces expand perception and dissolve boundaries, while the open connection between bedroom and bathroom creates a continuous spatial experience. A monoblock black bathtub acts as a central sculptural element, strengthening the project’s monochromatic narrative and emphasizing the ritual of pause within an otherwise dynamic urban context.

The project reflects a contemporary residential approach where atmosphere, material precision, and spatial clarity come together to define a quiet yet expressive interpretation of luxury living in Istanbul.
