Istanbul Hotel was designed by Toros and Partners as a hospitality project shaped around the idea of experiencing the city through time. Each floor and guest room reflects a different historical period of Istanbul, where material selections, surface treatments, and pattern language were informed by the character of each era. Moving through the hotel was envisioned as a gradual transition between layers of the city’s history.
From Roman to Byzantine, from Byzantine to Ottoman, and from the Republican period to contemporary Istanbul, every level carries its own spatial identity. As guests spend time within the hotel, the stay unfolds as a subtle journey through the evolving memory of the city, transforming accommodation into a temporal experience.
