BIG CHEFS VANIKÖY

Located along the Bosphorus waterfront, Big Chefs Vanikoy was conceived as a transformation project seeking a renewed spatial language while preserving the brand’s familiar warmth and sense of comfort. The aim was to reinterpret Big Chefs’ casual and home-like atmosphere through a more refined and contemporary design approach, establishing a subtle dialogue with the rhythm and scenery of the Bosphorus.

Developed by Toros and Partners, the design establishes a fluid relationship between the interior space and its surroundings. Natural materials such as wood and terrazzo were brought to the forefront, complemented by warm red tones that introduce both elegance and energy into the space. Layered textures, soft spatial transitions, and carefully scaled design decisions create a calm and welcoming atmosphere that maintains a strong connection with the environment.

As part of the art curation developed by Begüm Güney for the project, the selected artworks aim to support emerging local artists. Works by Bengisu Bayrak, Lara Törün, and the collaborative practice of Erman Gürcüm x Rafet Utku are integrated throughout the space, adding a contemporary artistic layer to the spatial narrative of Big Chefs Vanikoy.

The lighting design was developed in collaboration with Waxy, jointly designed by Toros and Partners, Nima Bavardi, and Merve Mehan. Custom designed lighting elements introduce a dynamic spatial character through changing light effects throughout the day, while creating a warm ambiance that resonates with the evening atmosphere of the Bosphorus.
