Sema’Zen, one of the first art-focused projects by Toros and Partners, was selected as a finalist in the international IGA Art competition, competing with leading artists from Turkey and around the world.
The project reinterprets Mevlana’s message of unity and tolerance within the context of Istanbul Airport, positioning Istanbul as a central point where cultures, movements, and experiences converge. Inspired by the cyclical motion of the universe, the design reflects the relationship between arrival and departure, day and night, and earth and sky, translating the whirling movement of a dervish into a spatial experience.
Through its materiality, digital layers, and sensory elements, Sema’Zen brings together art, culture, and movement, creating a multi layered experience rooted in Istanbul’s identity.
